Brian L. Berlandi

Brian Berlandi is a co-founder and partner of Berlandi Nussbaum & Reitzas LLP (“BNR”). He has practiced law since 1999 and currently chairs BNR’s Corporate and Real Estate practice groups. In addition to providing comprehensive legal counsel and operational advice to various small and mid-sized companies, Brian spends a majority of his time counseling lending institutions – both institutional and private – in complex lending transactions around the country, such as real estate collateralized loans, bridge and mezzanine financing, and asset financing loans.

Brian began his career practicing at large firms in New York, and then after serving as General Counsel at two different companies, formed BNR in July 2011.

Brian has twice (2017 and 2019) been selected as a New York “Super Lawyer” in the area of Business & Corporate Law, an honor reserved for those lawyers who exhibit excellence in their practice.

Brian is licensed to practice law in both New York and Massachusetts.

BNR has decades of experience representing banks, credit unions and other lenders, as well as borrowers, in all types of financing transactions, general business matters and lien enforcement. This experience enables us to efficiently and economically handle all matters from the simple to the highly complex. Our secured lending experience includes liens on real and personal property, as well as on aircraft and vessels. We have represented borrowers and lenders in numerous financings through bonds issued by local industrial development agencies and in transactions guaranteed by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Commercial mortgage loan closings are a core component of this group’s practice.

At BNR we also handle both loans and workouts for our many clients in transactions ranging from middle market matters to large, complex syndicated or agented real estate or business loan transactions in which the client is the lead lender. We regularly deal with other parties involved in the same transaction, such as lenders, venture capital investors and landlords. Our practice includes diverse types of secured, unsecured, mezzanine and other loan transactions on behalf of our clients.
